Summary: The Fish Culturist will become familiar with all operations of the farm including feeding, harvesting, and inventorying. Duties include but not limited to: Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times. Monitor feeding and environmental conditions. Learn and utilize computerized feeding systems and be able to troubleshoot when necessary. Maintain company assets in good operational condition. Work to continuously improve operations with respect to productivity, quality, safety, inventory levels and operating expense while utilizing effective aquaculture techniques. Must be able to work independently and within a team setting. Must be a self-starter and possess the ability to multi-task. Perform other duties, as assigned What you bring to Pacific Seafood Required: Minimum two years applicable experience. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Experience with Excel and Word. Preferred: Experience in trout and/or net pen farming is preferred Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound. Regularly required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have visual acuity to determine the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of the work assigned (i.e., custodial, food services, general laborer, etc.) or to make general observations of facilities or structures (i.e., security guard, inspection, etc.) Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a team member encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
