About the Company

We are a Traumatic Brain Injury Center with offices in Elmhurst, Brooklyn Heights, and Manhattan. We are offering a full-time position in our Queens Center with an attractive salary and benefits package that includes Medical Insurance, 401K savings plan with matching contributions, paid time off, vacation, holidays, working from Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, to Psychologist interested in learning Neuropsychology, or Neuropsychologist to join our multidisciplinary traumatic brain injury (TBI) practice. Job Duties and Responsibilities

Clinical Assessment

  • Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for individuals with suspected or confirmed traumatic brain injury (mild, moderate, and severe TBI).
  • Perform initial, serial, and follow-up evaluations to monitor cognitive recovery and treatment response.
  • Administer, score, and interpret standardized neuropsychological tests assessing:
  • Attention and concentration
  • Information processing speed
  • Learning and memory
  • Executive functioning
  • Language
  • Visuospatial abilities
  • Motor functioning
  • Emotional and behavioral functioning
  • Evaluate effort and performance validity using standardized validity measures.
  • Estimate premorbid intellectual functioning and compare current functioning with expected baseline.

Diagnosis and Clinical Formulation

  • Integrate neuropsychological findings with medical history, neurological examination, neuroimaging (MRI, DTI, SWI, NeuroQuant), and psychiatric information.
  • Diagnose cognitive disorders related to traumatic brain injury according to DSM-5-TR criteria.
  • Differentiate cognitive impairment due to TBI from psychiatric, neurological, developmental, and medical conditions.
  • Identify contributing factors such as PTSD, depression, anxiety, chronic pain, sleep disorders, medication effects, and other medical comorbidities.

Treatment Planning

  • Develop individualized treatment recommendations based on objective findings.
  • Recommend Cognitive Rehabilitation Therapy (CRT), speech-language therapy, occupational therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, psychotherapy, psychiatric intervention, or additional specialty referrals as indicated.
  • Provide recommendations regarding work, school, and daily functioning accommodations.
  • Monitor recovery over time and modify treatment recommendations based on serial assessments.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Work closely with neurologists, psychiatrists, psychologists, neuro-ophtalmologists, ophthalmologists, and other medical professionals.

Report Writing

  • Prepare comprehensive neuropsychological reports documenting:
  • Clinical history
  • Test results
  • Diagnostic impressions
  • Differential diagnosis
  • Functional impact
  • Medical opinions regarding causation
  • Prognosis
  • Treatment recommendations

Documentation and Compliance

  • Maintain timely and accurate electronic medical records.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, ethical standards, and professional guidelines.
  • Follow state licensing regulations and institutional policies.
  • Maintain board certification and continuing education requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (Psy.D. or Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
  • Completion of an APA-accredited internship.
  • Completion of a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • Licensed Psychologist in the applicable state.
  • Board certification in Clinical Neuropsychology (ABPP-CN) preferred.
  • Experience evaluating patients with traumatic brain injury and neurological disorders.
  • Proficiency in administration and interpretation of comprehensive neuropsychological test batteries.
  • Excellent report writing, communication, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in outpatient or rehabilitation-based TBI programs.
  • Experience with forensic neuropsychological evaluations and expert testimony.
  • Familiarity with advanced neuroimaging techniques (DTI, SWI, volumetric MRI/NeuroQuant) and integration of imaging findings into clinical interpretation.
  • Experience conducting serial neuropsychological assessments to monitor recovery and treatment efficacy.
